Please join us for our Life Writing series of readings at Bowery Poetry Club, located at 308 Bowery in New York's East Village. The event is on Sunday, October 21, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
We welcome everyone interested in health, healing and creative writing to join us in a celebration of the work in Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine. Share inspiring stories, poems, videos and artwork about health and healing from writers and clinicians.
We will also be celebrating two organizations aligned with our mission to support clinicians and healers: The Art Therapy Project and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Established in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death.
The Art Therapy Project is dedicated to helping trauma survivors through the creative process. Centered around challenges of Family, Violence, and Health, the New York nonprofit is dedicated to providing guided art therapy to those seeking hope and support.
Intima: A Journal of Narrative Medicine is a literary journal focused on Narrative Medicine, an interdisciplinary field that enhances healthcare through the practice of effective communication skills and strategies between caregivers, clinicians, and patients.
